The 60th Dauphine Libere concluded on June 15, 2008.- The seven stage race was won by Spain's Alejandro Valverde, age 28, of team Caisse D'Epargne.
- He finished with a total time of 27 hours, 34 minutes, 39 seconds, 39 seconds ahead of Australia's Cadel Evans, age 31 of team Silence-Lotto and 1:24 ahead of American Levi Leipheimer, age 34 of team Astana who finished third.
- In addition to the overall win Valverde won two stages or the race.
- The final 79.5 mile stage that finished in Grenoble was won by Kazakhstan's Dmitriy Fofonov, age 31, of team Credit Agricole. He finished with a time of three hours, 17 minutes, 20 seconds.
